Back in November while still looking for a permanent flatmate we had a temporary flatmate - a nice fellow by the name of Max who was moving here from Italy.
He moved on to his own flat, we had our new flatmate move in (the one who later had to move back to the USA)
Max is a nice guy, and we said we'd try to keep in touch and hang out some time, though I hadn't got 'round to it yet. (Been a bit busy)
I just heard from Max the other day. His whole flat burned down :-( Thankfully his dog, who he moved here too, is still stuck in quarantine, so the dog wasn't in the flat when it burned!
He's been staying at a friend's mother's place, but that was only ever meant as a very temporary solution. He's looking to find a new place to live now. I do not know what his budget is, (other than when I just mentioned a £500 a month place to him he's shown interest) but he's talking about just wanting a room - I expect in part 'cos he's lost most of his stuff in the fire anyway. :-(
He's a nice guy, and I'm happy to recommend that he made a fine flatmate.
Max is in his early 40's, Italian, IT professional, and not a goth at all*, though he didn't seem troubled by living in a flat which had random toy bats and spiders lying about when he stayed with
kingseesar and me. ;-)
*(Hence my not posting this to gothhousing specifically)
The ideal place would be one where his little dog - a shih tzu - could also live after release from quarantine in May.
